Why Cheater_1 was legitimately banned.

(This is from a post I made in a topic. Here's some exposure.)

When you created your account, you agreed to the Terms of service; excepts below:

"Put simply: be nice, no cheating!

Chess.com is a friendly community for those who love chess! Please be on your best behavior as you play chess and interact with others. Failure to follow these rules will result in your account being closed.

    Interacting with Members

Chess.com is a safe place for people to come and enjoy. There should be no abusive language, personal attacks, threats, or any other unkind behavior."

Cheater_1's repeated insults against those few he did play constituted this. Furthermore, he stated falsehoods in claiming that he was forced by outside sources to resign, and that was the reason Erik had him banned. If anything, I think 24 hours to release an apology was a kind gesture on Erik's part.

    Also:

"Chess.com reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice."

    Hence, blammo.

On top of the fact that Cheater_1 said in the last thread we spoke that he did not use real information on the site:

"You also agree to: (a) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the Service's registration form."

All of these are legit reasons as to why Cheater_1 was banned. It is the administrator's perogative. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I still say that chess.com has the best people worldwide.

In order for this to remain the case, the rules must be enforced, as long as they're fair (I'm not a "rules for rules' sake" kind of guy).

I'm quite comfortable with this site, especially being an elementary school teacher, where my students know that I play here.

If someone has gone consistently going out of bounds, then that's what happens!

I agree. This site has people of fine calibre, for the most part.

The issue is that cheater_1 was an entertainment figure, not just some regular chess player, he didn't even actually play, except on vote.

Would you really expect him to stay away.  If people would just ignore him, he would have lost interest by now.

    Don't feed trolls!

I agree with BorgQueen.  He wants the attention, so if people just ignore him, he'd leave.

Why is it such a big deal that cheater_1 has left ? Chess.com will be a more enjoyable place without him no ? And why is everyone overly disturbed about cheater_1's deparcher, but why is the question ?
