I think "notorious" is the word to be used, although "infamous" is not far off.

It's a sound choice as well.

chess.com is just a reflection of the real world. when you sign up we don't have a checkbox that says "You CERTIFY, under penalty of death or incarceration, that you will act like Ghandi 100% of the time while you are on Chess.com". (maybe we should??)

there are jerks and losers and idiots everywhere. just like there are awesome people everywhere. just depends on who you like to focus on.

my recommendation: play premium members only. they have something invested in the site.

It's not really that. Some people don't disconnect but just let the clock run out. This happens on playchess.com a lot more than on Chess.com, so feel good about this! The only problem with saying Premium Only is that it often causes long waits for your seek to be selected or for you to get a seek, in my experience.

Huh.  I always thought it was because they had to store vinegar somewhere.

Using the term "Douche Bag"  in a public forum is never in good taste!!  IMHO...Perhaps i'm  "old school"....But i think most refined people agree with my view...just thinking outloud here...T/Y.

If it is never in good taste in a public forum, then would that logically include your reference to it above? Just wondering.

Is "douchebag" really such a bad word? Obviously no-one wants to be called one, but would it really cause offence? I'm not a huge expert on American slang. It's a great word, though!

Lets add the rule that if you timeout you get -100 rating.

This combats people disconnecting because they are losing and people with crappy connections ^^.

Is there a way to combat imbeciles, I wonder ?
