Is Live 2.0 out yet? The last I checked a couple of days ago it was still in beta. When it comes out though that should solve your problem. If it's already out, well then you are probably in trouble.
Hi! Thanks for viewing my post. The reason I am contacting you now is because I know you can advise me properly on an incident I experienced recently. It had to do with a chess.com player "Cheating". As the cheater was in the process of cheating, I took the time to write the following:~~~~~~~~"Dear Friends...The following was written in approximately nine and one half minutes regarding a chess.com player whom I was playing at the time. You may find this interesting, as you read along... It is addressed to Crucifer but never mailed to him. Your action will be sufficient.Report:{What happened as it happened in real time. Written in the first person tense as if I were writing and able to chat with the cheater.}Crucifer,It is near the end of our game. I have the distinct game advantage. It is obvious that I will win this game. You have only your King. You have disabled chat. That was rude. {inconsequential} If you let time run out as it appears you are doing for the next nine and one half minutes, that would be twice as rude and even viewed as your attempt to cheat. Your score is more than 30 points above mine. You are attempting to cheat, hoping that my connection will disconnect and you will gain points. My connection will not disconnect. I and others will block you as a member attempting to play chess with us if you continue to carry on with this inappropriate behavior. My friends will tell their friends, and before you know it, you will have no one to play chess with on chess.com. It is my sincere hope that you understand, know, and realize that when you have no one to play chess with, and you attempt to change your alias, and your screen name, that the authorities at chess.com will become aware of this and block you entirely and forever, because of, and due to your inappropriate behavior of this now obvious attempt to cheat. With three and one half minutes to go in the game you started the game again because you apparently felt in your spirit this eminent and immediate reaction as described above. You moved twice. You know what will happen to you when your time runs out.. You have now stopped the game again and entirely. Dear Friends, please let and cause the action to occur as I have described it above. Please block this cheater and pass this message to your friends. So be it. It is done! It is so!.. ...because Crucifer caused it to happen.Friends and Leaders, if you abhor cheaters as I do, would you pass this on and block this user, and send this to your friends if you like... Easy to do... Go to: My Home\Account\Alert & EmailSettings - Bottom of Page enter the name 'Crucifer' for blocking.Thanks,“My-Favorte-Encounter"I decided not to alert Crucifer as to any intentions I had or may pursue. I want to do this right.Life has taught me that when there are serious concerns at hand, it is best to step back for a moment and fully consider all the facts and options. For instance - when I write something, it is better prepared in the end if I let the writing sit for a day or two and just simmer. Then go back and make corrections. Here are my questions. I am asking Leaders of our beloved chess site, because I am aware that you have the experience and knowledge on how to deal with such an incident.1. Does this kind of behavior warrant serious concern?2. Should I send this to all of my friends as I said I would do in my notation?3. Is there something you can do? ... and What?4. Should I report this to chess.com authorities right away?... Or let it circulate among 'Friends' until full saturation occurs as friends tell friends, and so on and so forth? Thus chess.com authorities become aware by way of third party awareness?5. Should I do nothing and let it pass?6. Is there something I should do that I have not mentioned, but that you would advise me to do?I think cheaters should face the consequences of their cheating. Trusting you do too.Eager to hear your response.Thanks,My-Favorte-Encounter
Hi My-Favorite-Encounter (M-F-E),
Listen, I see you are upset about what this guy did, but unfortunately it is not cheating. Your opponent is allowed to use the time alotted to him in a game any way he sees fit. Don't get me wrong M-F-E, it is very poor sportsmanship and I too would never play the guy again, at least in a long game, because no one likes to have to sit and wait pointlessly to collect a win. That said, if you reported this to chess.com staff I can tell you they would do absolutely nothing about it. They can't. It's not cheating, it's just poor sportsmanship. There are a lot of people who do this kind of thing to annoy their opponents. That is just the way it is. Fortunately, a vast majority of people here play the right way. Find yourself new opponents and avoid playing this guy again.
As for spreading news to your friends, well that of course is possible. I am telling you though, that won't work either on any kind of grand scale. Most people won't care. The guy will always have opponents to play. You should really just move on, block the guy, find other opponents, and continue to enjoy your chess.
Good luck!
