I teach summer school mathematics in the summer to help kids keep their mind sharp in the summer.  Once I teach the assignment and let them on their own to do a worksheet or take a quiz, i find myself on chess.com.

Sometimes I find myself on chess.com more at work than I probably should.  Does anyone else have this problem?

yeah, same problem here. This site is very addictive. I spending my whole time in chess.com. It's very hard for me, even I like to choose work than chess.com but  sometime I can't resist chess.com. I'm trying to help myself, I need to control this. I'm serious, I'm in big trouble right now (my work attitude).

I find I have the same problem - to an extent. I am certianally on chess.com several times at work. I work in front of a PC all day so it's easy to jump on.

Yup, and since I'm facing the students and my computer is not, they won't be distracted with my constant browsing on this website.

As far as I am concerned, my boss and the higher ups don't do any significant work while I cover the bases and make things happen. For that, I am definitely entitled to surf the web and to enjoy some distractions.

Howling Banshee, out of curiosity what math course do you teach?

I just finished six weeks of geometry.  Little did my teacher know was when my geometry book was propped up, I was solving puzzles in Sharpen Your Tactics.  It's all good though, got an A in the class Smile.

I think all humans are entitled to a break from work, so why not make it chess.com?  Your productivity will most likely remain unchanged, as you're not constantly working....I see that at my internship all the time.

I teach remedial geometry for tenth graders.  And I also teach one session of ninth graders.  It's just basic middle/high school geometry.

I hop on here from work now and then...  A little break is well deserved (and owed to me by state law).  But I still get a lot of satisfaction from a job-well-done.
