it must be suicide chess! its a chess variant where you try to lose rather than win. they may be very high rated, who knows.. unless they were really trying to win haha

The way I used the play was you had to take something if you could.

Iunno, maybe 2000+? Pretty complicated.

I'd hazard a guess that they were rated in the 17-1800 range.  I've never played this variant, but I liked the combo to force the capture of Black's rook with the double check and the forcing moves by White up on Black's Queen-side were good too.

Both players are between 1440 and 1480.

Playing to lose is harder then playing to win!

In suicide chess captures are forced moves... thus, 3.Qg5 would be illegal.

It's not proper "Suicide Chess", in that variant you are compelled to capture whenever possible. For example: 3. Qf4 Qg5 (3 ....Qg5 is illegal here as the capture 3 .... exf4 is available and must be played). I reckon it's Lenny Bongcloud and one of his stoner pals trying to play standard chess.

My guess is that both players have a zero rating, most of those moves looked random to me.

white is about 1600, but black was clearly outplayed, so I guess he is about 1500.

This is not suicide chess at all. Captures are forced (many times moves that were not captures when captures were available were played) as well as the king doesn't play a special role (after 13. c3, black has to make a capture, can't retreat king as in losers (a variant of suicide)).

From the fact that the players are a) absolutely terrible standard chess players

b) Incapable of understanding the simply rule of you must capture if possible in suicide chess

My vote is for <200 for both.

Here is the pgn for a real game of suicide. Can't post it here because of the whole king business.

1. a3 b5 2. c4 bxc4 3. Qb3 cxb3 4. Ra2 bxa2 5. d3 axb1=Q
6. Be3 Qxe1 7. Bxa7 Qxf1 8. Bxb8 Qxg2 9. Bxc7 Qxf2 10. Bxd8 Rxa3
11. Bxe7 Kxe7 12. bxa3 Qxh2 13. Rxh2 Kd8 14. Rxh7 Bxa3 15. Rxg7 Nf6
16. Rxf7 d6 17. Rxf6 Bb2 18. Rxd6 Rh7 19. Rxd8 Ba1 20. Rxc8 Bc3
21. Rxc3 Rh3 22. Nxh3
0-1
