I'm sure that everyone in here has a past with chess, so why not share it? Like how did you get interested in chess? Me, I learned from my uncle when I was little but never really started playing it until about a year ago. Which I've been off and on during that year. So I'm still not very good, but I hope to become better in time. Thats my story so whats yours?
Lotz of LOVE and yours truely,

When I was 2, I gnawed out the wooden bars of mt crib, then carved them into chess pieces, and taught myself to play
No really, I was taught by my dad when I was 8. Played on and off for years using only real sets. Only until I joined here did i ever play on line. And now, I bet I have played more game on here than all others put together. But I still prefer a game on a real board.

What thread posted a while back?
Just links to here...
Guess the link didn't work? Its called "How did you get into chess?" you can find it in the General Chess Discussion forum. Probably have to go back a ways its from like 2 months ago or something
Well I saw it on TV and it looked an interesting game, so I asked my uncle to teach me because he knew the game. I can beat my uncle now I've only been playing for 20 months and I have a rating of 1541 which is good going. But in time I want to get too a rating of 2700.
I was taught by my dad when I was about 12. I joined a club for a few years but then I quit playing at all for a long time. After some years I started playing again, this time I really wanted to get better. Thanks to the rating system on this site on which you can actually see whether you make progress.
I wasn't able to beat my dad until recently, now I can beat him anytime:)I'm still trying to get better, with more patience than I had before.
I played occaisonaly with my dad, and then I decided to play seriously
I learned it when I was 10, but never seriously !!!
