No money in chess compared to other sports. To make big money you've got to be in the world top 10, or else do it by other means like writing chess books. So if you're going pro you're not doing it for the money, you're doing it for the love of the game. I would if I was good enough though.

i am getting better at chess, but my improvment is slow
