A Little Help Please

    The problem began when I requested a computer analysis yesterday of a recent encounter: the analysis duly came, however, only the board showed up, none of the pieces appeared. This problem then spread (not immediately) to all of my other games, so that I was unable to see the pieces on the board, and therefore unable to move.

    Effectively, since then, the site has just progressively been shutting itself down to me: if I try to open a player’s profile, nothing will show except the chess.com banner (sometimes). If I look at a forum topic, whilst I can see other people’s forum posts, if I try to write anything, then nothing shows up, the text box merely remains blank (I am currently typing this in MSword on the good faith the when I paste it in it shall show up.) More importantly, I can’t seem to make any changes to my settings which means that I can’t go into vacation until this issue is resolved (and although that shall happen automatically when my time runs out – it would still be nice if I was actually able to change my status in order to explain my situations.)

    Not being the greatest in technical wizardry I was wondering if anyone could offer me advice on possible action to take – I assume that the problem is wholly at my end. Also, if anyone could perhaps switch me to vacation that would be much appreciated albeit, far from essential. The problem is present on I.E, Firefox, and Chrome, and in fact only clue that I can give is that, whilst the rest of the internet has remained in fine working order, MSN messenger stopped working at exactly the same time as Chess.com.

    So as the title suggests, I am open to any assistance that can be given, thank you in advance.

    Well I managed now to access the settings, to set vacation - yet all the other parts of the problem remain (Including game explorer, tactics trainer e.t.c.).

    Might try a doing a windows update. Also,try a check disc.

    Click on START--->Click on RUN--->Copy and paste this command---->chkdsk c: /f

    ( this is assuming that your main drive is c ) You will see a new window in DOS--->type y for yes and hit enter. Restart your computer.
