That way the Chess.com staff can see the message and so that they can handle it.

Yes. You can cut/paste specific things and make a detailed complaint instead of posting a forum topic. They have a no name/shame policy, even if the guy is a lout. They prefer to take care of these things without causing a lot of hurt feelings and grumpy complaints.
