I've noticed that when there is a banner ad displayed at the top of the screen, it will effectively cover-up the drop down menu.  The menu should drop in front of the ad, not behind it.

they do that so you'll buy membership and they make money because becoming a real member will abolish the ads. jus go anywhere on the site and do the drop down menu again.

Ad-block plus for all your ad blocking needs.  I didn't realize this site even had ads until someone mentioned them.

most ads should NOT be in front of the menu, but some ads have an odd ability to float above it.

also, ads are not necessarily to "force" anyone into paying. ads to to help pay for the services you are otherwise enjoying for free. :)
