I have seen your profile and clicked a couple of games. you have lost several games because you ran out of time. So I think you have to start by the time management problems.

I'd suggest not geting too caught up in this rating and points oriented chess....even though generally that's the standard of measuring status...I think more important is progress.........moving forward in your pursuits......find a few openings/defenses you like and dissect them........stay away from all the cheap traps, swindles, and pitfalls that dominate this site....see classical chess

as a pure struggle were there is so much to be discovered and enjoyed....

Reframe from the 4 knights opening. Those games tend to be dull and boring and do not really encourage the development of tactics but slow piece play. Basically those games are boring and don't usually better your tactical game

i hate 4 knights as black

yea, i hate them too, oops! non topic, try not playing too tough opponents, like... don't go over 1500, unless you have agreed for the player to help you, not play you... try playing players with a close range rating, at your own leage, and have some games ongoing with a few higher rated opponents, not too many.

the rating doesn't really matter, you can always get it back by learning to play better, so you have no obligation to sustain a certain rating, just try gettering better at chess, and your rating will rise by itself.

if u wanna increase ur rating play against a computer (Easy,Medium) continously & then play against other powerful players & if u lose too much, then play again with the computer. ds trick has worked many times for me, it also puts some of my new opponents in trouble!
