I once developed an app for the android featuring a cow named Wilmu. You clicked on the cow, your phone vibrated and the cow "moo'd".
Called it WillMooForClicks. It was for a college homework assignment. Was feeling pretty good about it until someone pointed out the fact that cows are only female. (I had introduced Wilmu as a "he".)
So long story short, had to change her name to Willetta and come up with a story about how she lied about her real name on the application for cows auditioning for the spot, so we had to can her and discontinue the app altogether.
Thankfully, it was considered creative and amusing so I got an A for the assignment, but not without first experiencing the humiliation of making a blunder. Interesting how life imitates chess.
Moral of the story?
Name changes are okay and everything should work out fine no matter which name you use. (Of course nothing pornographic, racist, anti-religious or violent as a word for the wise).
