With @chess.com email addresses, if it just refreshes the page, it means someone else already has that email address so you'd need to choose another one.
What is the avatar image of ? Is the old or current one the blue face ?

Yes, the current one is blue face but I want to change it to something else and it's also just refreshing the page. There's also no delete option.
As for the email address already in use, it should tell you instead of leaving the user guessing as to what the problem might be. Strange someone has that email address already but I'm the owner of the alias. I think I used to have that email address (playm8@chess.com) before but then I stopped playing for a while and my account was deleted. So I re-registered but email is still in use? It shouldn't be.
It may be still attached to an old un-used account.
I've deleted the photo for you now. Try uploading a new one then clearing cookies and doing a hard Ctrl F5 on your homepage
Sometimes Firefox will retain an image in cache no matter what you try. Apparently, Firefox stores its cache in 3 different locations, so even if you delete one of these, you still might get the old image popping back up. You can type about:config into the address bar, and then change browser.cache.check_doc_frequency to a value of 1. That seems to work.

Of course you can have an avatar.
1. Put an image on your desktop (100 pixels by 100 pixels is perfect).
2. Hover over "HOME", select "Account", then select "Profile".
3. Hit "Browse" and select the image on your desktop.
4. Hit "Save Changes" (bottom of page, orange button).
p.s. Don't panic if the new avatar isn't immediately apparent, it will happen.

Little Doggie come through big time...with the save changes at the bottom of the page.....I was having trouble with changing my Avatar, but with the big dog pointing the way...my new image pop right in, yes popped right in where u want to be.
Nice to know that those instructions are still helping people.
The interface has changed a little since those instructions were written, and an image of 200x200 pixels is now a better choice.

Take a picture of somebody else's default setting and then post it in your avatar?
Btw, I can see why you would want to change that avatar, it looks like you're punching yourself in the head.

Anyone know why I can't seem to remove or change my avatar? I have a .jpg set to 100x100 pixels yet it's not taking it.
Also, it's not taking the email user name I'm trying to add (playm8). The page just refreshes so no error messages on either problems.
I also tried it via IE and Firefox. Any ideas?
