I looked at upgrading my account to yearly gold membership, but the initial total after clicking on 'next/continue' automatically included the monthly Chess Mentor fee, even though the check-box for this feature was unchecked.

Is it the case that that one must purchase one months worth of Chess Mentor with any account upgrade?  This is the impression I had.

I believe that might be an error, as I do not believe that Erik or Jay, or any of the others have commented that Chessmentor might be mandatory for membership.  It seems like an idea comprised of less than intelligent decisions if you ask me.

i am 99% sure that you had, at some point, added Chess Mentor to your cart. you can easily remove it, but i am very sure that you added it to your cart at one point when contemplating, and then it was there again when you went back. you should just check on the box and click on REMOVE. i have actually had that happen to me as well when testing the site - i just forget that i had added it at some point :)

Ah - that might be it, I'll try again.  Thanks
