My friend M-W-R's account got closed. I don't know why. Please staff explain, his rating was like 1300 and he was a REALLY nice guy.

    Thanks, Samsch

Yes, M-W-R was a great guy! Why did his account get closed all of the sudden?

    Maybe he closed it himself?

Looks like his account was closed by the anti-spam-bot. But since you guys say he's cool, I've re-enabled. :)

Yes... It's a tad trigger-happy at times, but better safe than spammy.

Can you give me an example of the kind of text you're posting in the Notes?

I think it would be really good if the spam-bot sent a warning first before actually deleting someone off of chess.com for good. I've seen a lot of people get deleted (a bunch of my "friends" too), and it wasn't for cheating so I suppose it was for "spam." But they probably never even knew they weren't allowed to do what they were doing until they found themselves locked out of chess.com forever. :(

@DeepGreene: Anything. He can post "Hi!" or "Want to play?" or "You're so nice!" and it will get closed. By the way, M-W-R is really a good person

@Elizabeth0: I agree it happens too often with people I know :(

It's strange. I've been here since '08 and never had a run-in with "the bot," but some people get picked on repeatedly for sure. I don't currently have a lot of insight into how that works, but I'll look into it.
