Good day to Chess.com staff, I was playing a game with 'darkmagegurl' and now her account has been closed because she was found out to have 'cheated'. I'de just like to know what kind of violation she committed- if possible, and can you tell me that your ABSOLUTELY sure that she cheated in this way. I thought she was just a strong chessplayer. She told me she was a rated player in Singapore... now she's gone, I'm just kind of dumbfounded. Hope you could tell me. Thanks.

You shouldn't post queries like this into the forums.

If her account got banned, then she was found to have been breaking the rules in some way. This probably, though not neccessarily, means she was using an engine.

If she were a rated player and could have proved that, then she wouldn't have been banned. We are VERY cafeful about who we ban for cheating.

Be careful if Magnus Carlsen plays chess on this site... He was doing EVERY ONE of Rybka's best suggestions on his last won match... What a boy... what a boy...

Sorry I did not know where to ask about this. Anyway, I guess she did violate a rule on the site, too bad for her, I just feel sorry for her banned from this, just the BEST site for chess.

So everyone who plans to cheat or violate the simple rules will really regret it. Thanks and more power.

it'd be good for the rest of us to know what rule she broke (so we all take 'em seriously!)
