Yesterday I received an email informing me that I have a new online chess challenge. After login I do not find this challenge in my online chess page. All other in progress games and all site features seems to works OK.
this time works
in any case, sometimes I have received mail about a challenge that I do not find in my page (last time yesterday, for a challenge from user Papon. This is not really a problem for me, I signal this only in the hope that can be useful for your wonderful site future bug fixing/development
I too have had the same problem today, having received two challenges via email.
So as to not appear rude what is the best way for me to accept the challenges?
PS Great site - have finished with another chess site after joining this one a few days ago.
the best way to accept these is to click on the "ACCEPT" link on your chess homepage ( http://www.chess.com/echess/myhome.html ) or in the ALERTS tab.
the challenge may have been cancelled. do you see the challenge in your ALERTS panel (the yellow alerts box)?

1) Someone launch a challenge and the email is sent
2) later the challenger cancel the challenge
3) the challenged login to the site and do not found any sign of the challenge
If it is the case this is not a real problem of the site; it is just a little bit confusing for the challenged (until it will get used to it )
There isn't anything there now and I didn't notice anything before.
I'll assume the challenger has cancelled then and take fpiantini's advice.
Erik
just to let you know fpiantini has sent me a challenge which was visible on my home page and in my alerts. I have accepted and it is now showing as a current game.
I don't know how you can get around people cancelling challenges after the challenge email has been sent, except to send an email saying that the challenge has been cancelled and therefore the previous challenge email is to be ignored.
Alternatively don't let people cancel once the challenge has been made, if they want out they will have to resign if the recipient accepts the challenge!
thanks! yes, we'll have to do something like this. we are going to tidy up the challenge flow soon.
