so here's the deal: i get these emails from "chess.com" that say stuff like, "you have a new comment" and "everybody everywhere wants to be your friend" and "you lost another game, you toad." these emails are great. i love them.

however.

i only receive them when i am signed on to chess.com. that is, when my browser is closed, i don't get any emails. when i am surfing the chess.com website, i get them.

i don't really have a problem with this per se, but it just seems a little backwards. when i'm signed on, i already know that everybody everywhere wants to be my friend. it's when i'm signed off that i could use an email.

am i making sense? honest, i'm not complaining, i'm just...i dunno. i thought you guys might want to know. okay i'll stop blathering

:) great post. here is the deal: you only get them once PER login. so when you haven't logged in within the last 10 minutes, you will get an email. but you will only get ONE email (because who wants a bunch of emails stacking up?). the thing is, once you login, we have to reset that flag, so you may get another email while you are on the site. but then if you leave, you will get one more (if you have something waiting for you), but only one more. i'm not sure if that makes sense. but the important thing is that to YOU it doesn't make sense, which means we need to fix it. i will look into that, because hey, maybe it is confusing!?

Yeah, I must admit I am rather confused also. But I do think the email notifications are great!
