question here: Is there any way we can tell if the player are breaching the 'Fair play policy' by having a flag next to thier name and has there been any players hit with this rule yet ?
I think maybe, only the Player concerned knows whether he's flagged or not ... I dunno .. haven't seen anyone with such 'flags' around but I did read recently that someone was marked ,on a Forum Post he made.
Btw,regarding the 'Aborts',I think it wld be quite difficult to tell accurately whether it's intentional or not .
nope. players who lose on time while playing a game don't get dinged as poor sports. players who sit for 10 minutes down a queen without making a single move, game after game after game, will. as will people who disconnect every time they lose material. that is poor sportsmanship.
don't worry, staff are not crazy, and are chessplayers. we know it's normal to lose on time in a blitz game.
facing our defeats with dignity and grace is a challenge worth working on :)

I'm glad to hear that. Do you have ways of identifying such people, or do you rely on their opponents reporting them? If the latter, how do we report them?
we do have ways, but you can report them too, by clicking on the help&support link at the bottom of every page.
Hehe .. If we can't discern the Reason ,then it wld be an Unintentional/Forced Abort, right ?
( Having to click on the 'Abort' Button ,does not make it Intentional ).
.. eg,If we accidentally clicked on a wrong Seek.
or we need to do something else urgently immediately after we got the Seek we wanted.
Yeah, or pizza delivery guy at the door...there may be good reasons to abort but you can't abort by NOT clicking on the abort button, it requires some action by the user.
.. but that Action of 'Aborting' is Forced/Non-Intentional coz we don't wanna/Intend to Abort but gotta do it !
... Anyway,I konw what u mean .
Can we report anyone who disconnects after losing his Queen?
yes, please do.
gotta be kidding me ?
btw Site policy seems not entirely fair, since it allows the burden of meeting actually skilled but unrated players in ' Fairplay ' matches to be met mainly by lower raters already struggling at the bottom of the lists.
Guys this is the link for reporting and contacting staff, alternatively, you can click help at the top right of the page and then selecting " contact support" on the left column. Thanks. here is the link :
Ah, okay, yes kohai answered that one.
