What exactly are "FEN" and "PGN" ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Hi GM, these are names for definitions for files that contain a chess boards current state.   FEN is Forsyth-Edwards Notation and PGN is Portable Game Notation.  Both accomplish the same goal, a defined file type for storing a game.  There is also CBV, CBH, and so on... they never keep it simple. :-)

So "FEN" And "PGN" are the same--then what am I doing wrong when entering into

They are not quire the same, PGN stores an entire game, while FEN stores only a board position. Wikipedia has decent entries on both here: PGN and FEN

Sorry, I may have confused you a bit there.  PGN is a file, and FEN is a type of item of data in the PGN.   the PGN is created from your game.
