Ok, "Little Chess Partner" isn't exactly the strongest engine ever, but I'm not posting to complain about that.  I would just like to be able to choose which piece I want to promote to, when a pawn reaches the 8th rank.  As it stands right now, it just automatically Queens, but there are occasions when this might lose/draw a game for you that would otherwise be won.  I'm sure "puzzle of the day" followers would be aware of this, and if I have to post there to rally some support I will do so. ;-)

I think erik and the chess.com gang are working on a new computerized opponent which will have more features than the off-the-shelf LittleChessPartner that is used now.

little partner is TERRIBLE :) it is inflexible, lacks options, is missing some rules, etc. BUT, it is free and easy to implement and we didn't have to do anything to get it up and running quickly. we are working on something MUCH MUCH better :) until then, enjoy littlepartner and all his quirks!

I know Chess Partner has it problems, but the one thing I like about it is that he will play when no one else will.  Also I have found it makes my online game with people better because it keeps me sharper.
