If your question is about the theme, try here: http://www.chess.com/home/edit_theme.html
If it's about the drop down menus being listed like that, try a hard refresh (ctrl + f5).
I should have mentioned that I have tried changing themes with no luck. Funny thing is, it only happens on my work computer, home is fine. It just started doing this a day or two ago, before that I had no problems. I did not change any settings that I know of.
Hard refresh does not fix it. If I log out the log in page displays correctly.
try using firefox browser
or detele cache and cookies
I have deleted all temporary internet files including cookies, unfortunately since I am at work I dont have the ability to use firefox (I doubt I would be having this problem if I could)
Thanks for the help everyone, keep the ideas coming! I cant play chess at work now because it wont display the board :(
"I cant play chess at work now"
Sue your employers, their unreasonable behaviour clearly infringes your human rights.
Thanks Prawn, but one of the things I like about my job is that they dont mind me playing Chess while I'm on the clock (within reason of course). Regardless, I need to figure this out, it totally ruined my day.
If you access chess.com at work, the company proxy or whatever might be blocking chesscomfiles.com which produces that problem shown in your screenshot. I've tried accessing chess.com normally and using an extension (RequestPolicy) to block chess.com accessing chesscomfiles.com and the resulting screen is similar to yours. I've had the same case when trying to go to chess.com at school.
Its strange that it happened so suddenly though, I've been playing chess at work for years!
Sounds like a tough job. It must be something in your browser. Check your security settings. If you have administrator privileges in your PC, try updating or downloading another browser.
Use this as an excuse to get a new box! Chock it up at a virus with your employer and call it a day!
No admin privileges, and I dont want to bother IT because my chess site doesnt work. There has to be a simple solution!
