Has anyone that used the Foxfire Browser had their chess pieces to disappear?  The chess board will open but the chess pieces do not appear.  It has happened to me a couple of times.  The first time they finally reappeared after a week or so.  It happened again yesterday.  I have chess.com excluded from all AdBlock activities.  When this occures I use Internet Explorer and everything is fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about Firefox?  If so, I have never had any problems relating to that browser.

If you cannot see the pieces in FireFox you should try hitting "Control R" keys on the page where you should be seeing pieces. Hopefully this will correct the problem.

Just hit refresh, or if you are using an ad blocker, deal with it.

You are correct, it is FireFox.  Control R does not help and my adblocker is turned of.

Yes, I have no trouble on FireFox either. Are you using the latest version of Mozilla FireFox?

Firefox ver 2.0.0.11 - no probs.  Wouldn't risk it with IE :-) so don't know if that's better or worse

DarkTower, I could not find the reference to change value from 1 to 3.

Hopefully the problem will fix itself like it did last time.

Hi Erik,  I do not think I have Accessibility option enabled.

As I mentioned earlier, this is the second time that this has occurred.  The first time a utility called Max Registry Cleaner identified files to delete.  After deleting them, pieces would not show on the board.  Later, they reappeared.

This time,  Trend Micro PC-illin identified files/cookies that should be deleted.  I did and my pieces disappeared.

I have a delima.  It looks like I need to ignore information from programs that I have pay to protect my computer or use IE when I want to use chess.com.

Erik,  do you store/save anything related to pieces or their display in locations that these programs like to keep clean?

very odd. no - we don't store anything on your computer except for session cookies (totally normal - everyone does). of course, the browser DOES download files that it needs to operate the website (images, stylesheets, graphics, html), but that is how browsers work. it might be that when you clean your computer from all files and cookies you are somehow removing the graphics, but your browser doesn't THINK they are removed, and so it just doesn't download them again.

what style of pieces do you have in your echess settings? then i can run a test...

I use the Classic pieces.

The odd thing is that whatever is deleted does not stop IE from displaying.  It only screwes up FoxFire.
