game challenges

I've written messages to chess.com many times. I always get reply that I have to be "Friends" to have them accept my message. When I send request for them to be a "friend", I get sent to page saying they don't accept "friend" requests! How can I ask any questions from them with this setup?  This sucks!

I am confused.  Are you trying to play a game with the management of chess.com? Why?

No, notmtwain, I am just trying to contact them about a question about accepting game challenges.  I send message, get site saying they only accept messages from "friends", then I request them to be friend, then am told they don't accept friend requests. Do you know how to ask them a question? 

Sorry, but no one has to accept you as a friend or accept challenges from you.

If that's not the question, just ask the question here. Chances are good that someone here will be able to answer you.

notmtwain, I know we can refuse challenges and friend requests. Question #1: Why do I have options of "Cancel" or "View" when someone sends a challenge? I've had one challenge that had "Accept" in place of "Cancel" as option. Number 2: Why the red box saying chess.com accepts texts only from friends, then when I ask them to be friends (so I can text them about issues), I get red box saying they don't accept friend requests?  I hope this is clear enough, and welcome any help on these matters.  Thanks for taking time to post your replies.    

I see your dilemma, but why not file a ticket with Help & Support and ask your question there?
