I want to buy my friend a gift of platimum membership. But buying 1 year is too expensive for me. I was thinking I could buy 3 months, and then if my friend will like it, he can continue paying. Is it possible at all?

good bloody question, AZverev !! I tried to do the same for two of my friends a few months ago, but the system went all pernickity about me bank details and me wasn't allowed to. Be interestin' to see answer, cos this site developin' all the time - seem funny that any business turn down your readies though

I think so, but you would have to ask the staff send them a ticket, they will probably just ask for your bank details and stuff and then they will add the membership. I know that they can just add membership on in a Jiffy (1 millisecond of a second) :D
