I understand how you feel, I actually thought of doing a few weeks ago myself. What I can say is, if you enjoy the game, keep playing it. There are trolls anywhere you go, but there is a wonderful chess community where people help each other with constructive critisicm. Its just hard to find sometimes. If you dont do OTB much, find a close chess club. I played only online, and i just started playing OTB, which is so much more fun than onmline
But trolls make the forums so much more fun...

If you want to get better at chess, try my video lessons. I lay out a plan for you to get up to master strength. Check the link in my profile.

Okay. I'll help you.
I'll challenge you to a game, and I don't cheat. Just look at my record. No computer plays that bad.

First off I'll try to learn as much as possiable from everyone. Also, all I really want is to improve on my ranking from 1100 to 2300. Thanks for the support. Hopefully, I can start fresh and with a clean slate. If not, well then my dream to grandmaster is offically over.

I'd be willing to play you in an online game and give you tips as to any mistakes you make, at least as far as I can see them.
Awesome. I will be on live from 8pm to 12am tonight if anyone wants to play me on 15 minute standard time control.

Except for the title players most of us here are trying to learn to be more skilled chessplayers , with study and posting some of your losses these guys do a tremendous job of analysis which can make a world of differance in moving up the ladder. if you felt someone was using a computer simply BLOCK them and move on because to reach your goal of (2300) you have a ton of work in front of you !
Yea i have lots of work to do...arg. lol.
I wouldn't actually block anyone at his level, unless he has actually checked their moves with an engine to confirm that they are cheating. Almost no 1200 player cheats ever.

Don't beat yourself up over it TJ. Everyone here has ups and downs and frustrating losses. I was really excited to finally break 1700 last week and then lost what seems like 10 of my next 12 games and lost 80 points in a week. Best advice is 1) study if you want to get better (videos, books, web articles), and 2) don't kill yourself over a loss. Get used to the idea that, on average, you WILL lose roughly half your games agains equal players. No ifs ands or buts. That's just the way it works. So get it in your mind that it happens and then it's easier to to get past it when it does. If you're trying to improve, study the lost game, and try to remember where you went wrong so you see it before it happens next time...
I will do that thanks for all the tips.

I think I told you that once.
In order to regain confidence,
1. solving tactics is great. You can't always find the solution but then you learn new ideas.
You can also try to 2. play theoretically won positions against your computer (start with easy positions where you are sure you would win and slowly augment the difficulty).
Studying strategy is something you can postpone.
3. Look at very short games (opening blunders)
4. If you have time to invest and money too, then a coach could a good idea. But then the first good move is to choose the right one.
It's good to have an objective, and even better to have high expectations (e.g. I think that I'll never reach the 2300).
5. Ah! and somebody said: "go to a club!" I agree. It brings you to a new level and suspecting people of cheating when they are in front of you (at least when you are playing blitz) is much more difficult.

One step toward getting better is admitting that those who beat you arent cheating...

and maybe have some more realistic goals. like: going from 1000 to 1500 instead of 2300. after u reached 1500 u should maybe try 1800 and so on.
Well I want to challenge myself so I can reach my main goal. I have sub-goals that are not as challenging as getting to 2300. I'm gonna try to find a chess club in my area and start playing asap. Thanks for the tips.
Is there any chance that a 1300 rated player can beat a 2700 rated player?
