OK, so it says I have 1 new message. When I click on message, no new message show up. Is there a way to clear these "ghost messages"?
Thanks, Samsch

Not related at all...
Please, anyone know what to do?
VULPES_VULPES
I had that once too. Just try logging off and on again, or refreshing a page once or ten times. Usually works.
OK, thanks.
Wait, still did'nt work. Now what???

Click ignore.
Maybe there is no "Ignore"-option anymore.

I have this problem myself sometimes. It is probably just a bug or glitch of some sort. Usually, it goes away within 24 hours. You can try logging out and then back in, but I think it'll go away on it's own eventually.
Ok, thanks.
Daeru
Just a glitch, mine took 4 days to go away.
Zen
Yup time seems to heal this particular wound.

It happens if you ignore a message, it's not marked as read. Go to your messages, sort by read/unread and you'll find it
That's also true, but sometimes it just glitches and shows you have an unread message even when you don't.
Ok, thank you all! It seemed to work!!!

I also have this problem every once in a while and it always goes away once I get another message. I also think that what causes it is by opening it in another tab, but I'm not 100% certain that this causes it. :) (If you have multiple messages, it doesn't matter if you open them as a different tab as long as you don't do that with the last one.)
DaBigOne
Yeah, if you open two tabs, one for chess.com homepage, and other to read messages, after deleting all and closing the tab, the homepage tab still shows messages to be read.
Just refresh the page, or restart if the problem is staying.
