There are two types of moderator.

    Forum and live chess

Before applying for either, a member must be:

    Aged 18 or over,

Been a member of Chess.com atleast 6 months,

    Know the site well,

    Have only one account,

And be an active member on the site.

Isn't it kind of silly to say "Have only one account" when everybody is allowed only one account, anyway?

I care ! I don't like the team lying to me .. if i ask if they only have one account and they say yes .. then i find they have more ...  :(

I need to know i can trust the moderators before giving out the responsibility of moderator.

In live chess for example, a new member joins the site and very often live chess is one of the first places they go to ask questions. The first people they are likely to see in there are the moderators.  How the moderators react reflects on the site. If they are rude to a newcomer or give wrong information it reflects badly on the site. I try to train all the moderators to have the same information and work all the same way, following the same guidelines.

If a member sees one of the moderators has more than one account, but is telling them ''no, you're only allowed one', it looks bad. So i try to ensure all moderators only have one account and are within the site rules.

Kinda 'practise what you preach' as the saying goes.

No, there are 8 forum and 14 live chess (soon to be 16)
