There are two types of moderator.

Before applying for either, a member must be:
Aged 18 or over,
Been a member of Chess.com atleast 6 months,Know the site well, Have only one account,And be an active member on the site.

Isn't it kind of silly to say "Have only one account" when everybody is allowed only one account, anyway?
Not really as alot don't know that, haven't read it, ignore it and have several :(

So, who are the forum moderators ?
I thought they could spot them real easy. Actually, I don't know Chess.com cares, anyway.
They are MIB - They zap posts then zap the people in it so no-one knows who they are
kco
they want to remaind anonymous, so we not gonna know
Is the number of moderators anonymous as well? I mean, if there are 5 of them, or 100?
I care ! I don't like the team lying to me .. if i ask if they only have one account and they say yes .. then i find they have more ... :(
I need to know i can trust the moderators before giving out the responsibility of moderator.
In live chess for example, a new member joins the site and very often live chess is one of the first places they go to ask questions. The first people they are likely to see in there are the moderators. How the moderators react reflects on the site. If they are rude to a newcomer or give wrong information it reflects badly on the site. I try to train all the moderators to have the same information and work all the same way, following the same guidelines.
If a member sees one of the moderators has more than one account, but is telling them ''no, you're only allowed one', it looks bad. So i try to ensure all moderators only have one account and are within the site rules.
Kinda 'practise what you preach' as the saying goes.
No, there are 8 forum and 14 live chess (soon to be 16)
MIB?
Thank you Kohai, I expected more forum moderators actually (there is more to moderate in forums that in live chess I think), but as long as they manage it, it's fine

They seem to be everywhere (I caught a couple of em underneath my bed the other day...had to whack em out into the street with a broom).
I think woodshover is a moderator under cover.
Whoa, Woodshover Under Cover (I'm pretty sure I'd watch that).
Let's try to guess the list of moderators
1. Woodshover
2. ?

Is there any chance that a 1300 rated player can beat a 2700 rated player?
