some are worth more than others. the kinds of contributions that are more meaningful (articles, etc) are worth more.

at 1,000 points i get you a free t-shirt Tongue out (as long as they are not achieved through spammy methods)

UPDATE => Nov 11 2008 - we do NOT give out free shirts anymore (we did this for a few weeks and stopped in 2007).

You see, CPawn, the problem is that back then the site had just started up (and so to get to 1000 points was unheard of) but nowadays... well, just look at my points. Some people have over 3x as many.

Wow, a Chess.com T-shirt! That's even better than a Ferrari!

You'd better print that shirt already, since I'm only 984 points away from 1000 points! (983 now!)

If you have stopped giving Tshirts from 11 Nov 2008, then you should better reset and zero all the previous points earned by all members and restart the points again from Nov 2008.bcoz it's unfair to the beginners without any encouragements.

Even without the tee-shirt I plan to contribute. I did buy a nice board and 4" pieces from Chesshouse.com so not in need of any incentive.

i think a chess set would be nice but only for those who are members. For basic members offering more stats would be good enough cos' in other sites graphs or pies are available for everybody...this is unfair isn't it???

i would also like to exhort the chess.com staff to provide more access to features such as openings or tactics trainer (but always less access than members) for basic members who have a high contribution to this site.Limited access to openings for example is a bit preposterous as long as everyone who plays chess on internet most likely possesses a chess program too with all opening lines.I believe the same applies to tactics trainer since there are innumerable chess puzzles. Thus i believe that this could be a promising role of points urging everybody to share any kind of chess material via this site or in general context participate so as to make this site the best by far from all aspects.

A chess T-shirt doesn't help you in chess. D:

If you are still giving away T-shirts, then make them worth 1 million points. :P

Nonsense! These T-shirts are enchanted with a +2 bonus to Tactics and a +4 to Strategy. In addition, any Intellect rolls you make you get to roll an extra d20.
