I'm having this problem as well, as of this morning. I cannot see the pieces on the board of any game or daily puzzle.

If you're at work, maybe they have a firewall setup to block java scripts. My office does..

I noticed this today as well after having to reinstall my browser/java etc. Its related to the security settings. On IE just go to settings/security tab and move the slider down to medium and all the chess boards will appear again. I think the new Java install reset the security up a notch. Hope this helps.

Hi,
We are suspecting that a recent Windows update intentionally changed the JavaScript settings for IE (and possibly for Firefox too). Here's what you need to do to ensure that our boards work (and most of the Internet nowadays).
If you go to a game on chess.com and you see a grey board with the pieces not showing up, most likely that this post is for you!
On Internet Explorer 7 or 8:
On Firefox 2.0+, 3.0+, 3.5+:
Please, let me know wether this fixes or not your problems.
