Hi, just got a Nokia E5 mobile and can't get the download from the 'mobile with Java' to work! I tried the above link but it appears to be broken. Can anybody point me in the direction of a fix, please?

Can you try this link from your phone browser:
http://chess.com/mobile/bin/www.chess.com/Chess.com.jad
Thanks for that! Seems to have loaded OK. Now to try and remember username and password! lol

Stefan,
I tried it also on my E72. Same problem I think.
I loaded the .lad from
Attempted to install, but got an error "compulsory attributes missing". I'll let you know if I find anything.
Matt.
The Chess.com mobile app works well on a broad range of mobile phones (provided they support Java and can connect to the Internet), but some models are problematic, and some users get errors using the normal link to download and install the app.If you're having trouble, here are a few things to try:1. Try this alternative link from your phone's browser:http://chess.com/mobile/bin/www.chess.com/Chess.com.jadThat alone solves the problem for many users. However, if that doesn't work and you are still getting errors, you may have better luck installing the application via computer:2. On your computer's browser, open this link: http://chess.com/mobile/bin/www.chess.com/Chess.com.jar3. Download the file and save it on your computer4. Transmit file "chess.com.jar" to your mobile phone from the computer - using a cable, bluetooth, card-reader, etc.5. Install on your phoneWe hope that solves the problem. If not, please contact us, and we'll do our best to help. Unfortunately, it may simply be that the app won't work on your model of mobile phone. Please note the mobile app will not work on most touch screen phones.

I wasn't able to get the automatic download on chess.com/mobile with opera mini on simple Java nokia's. You can get it using the link (.jad) as shown above, but note that the uppercase C in Chess.com.jad is mandatory! It doens't work with lower case "c".

why am i only allowed three moves per day(Nokia E72 and Chess version 2.7)? then a message pops up asking me to upgrade to premium and i am not allowed any more moves? why is this?
Basic members are only allowed 3 moves per day on the apps.

I'm using E72 and experienced the same compulsory attributes issue. However thanks to this post I solved it pretty fast. Just rename jad to jar.
