Not true at all.
Chess.com only requires 2 javascripts for proper functions.

That can be safely whitelisted. The rest are either third-party ads or trackers, which can indeed increase page loading time and overall bandwith consumption.

OP, if you have followed all the suggestions given by other members in similar threads and performed those steps and if the issue still persists, then I'd suggest you to restart your computer under "Safe Mode with networking". I know it's not safe but please log in to Live Chess on chess.com and play 2-3 games. Please post if you still experience lag issue. Thanks! I'm not a techie but that's how I resolved my issue after 3 long months, thanks to an advice by a chess.com friend. I hope it works for you too.
