I've just played a live chess game and ended up in this position. It's obviously a draw but I'm wondering how this works in live chess. My time ran out and I lost the game. Have I got to wait for three move repetition before claiming the draw?
Thanks in advance.
Lockin
Have him stalemate you.
Tyzer
You can offer a draw, wait for the repetition, or sac your pawn for insufficient material. Fifty move rule will not happen if you play sensibly.
I think he was black actually, so saccing the pawn is out. Still, it shouldn't take many moves for a three move repetition to be reached in this position; unless he was really short on time already.

actaully, if white wanted to he could make it take quite a while for a 3 fold rep. he could cicle the king around the pawn at least three time, so at least 15 moves before three fold is gone. if black tries premoves white may be able to take advantage.
Dragec
You lost because queening(and mate) is possible(if you make an error).
You'd have to wait for 3 fold or stalemate.
I know, but 15 moves doesn't seem too much. Well, unless like I said, he was really short on time.
sorry, i thought you were the OP, who did run out of time. obviously there was time pressure there. hence my confusion.
i think i would have trouble recognizing a threefold rep. that didn't happen immediately. unless there was no clock and i could click back through moves and count.
