Live game time inaccuarte?

why is my opposition having seconds added to their game time when we ae playing 'blitz' with no time added for moves?? Even at end of regulation time, they failed to move and ran out of tiime but server said that game was aborted by opposition and even then they had 21 seconds added to their final play!!

 

Come on Chess .com - whats the go..

I think what you experienced was what they call "lag".  Your opponets time appears to be running down but in reality they have moved, just that their move hasn't been transmitted from the server to your pc.  Then suddenly the move comes through and their time goes to what it should have been.  It's very disconcerting alright, in ione game I was sure to win on time I thought, and relaxed.  Then all of a sudden my opponent had over a minute and I had to wake up again.
