loss of points

i play online chess i get to challenge a player wich is 960 i didnt want this so i resign without makin a move how come i lose points

When you resign, you lose.

yea but u dont lose points unless u make so many moves

but chazzer u are playing a tournament not challenging them. u can cancel a challenge but this is a tourney!!

maybe only now u realise its a tournament!

I've had an opponent time out on me in an online team match game after we had made just our 1st move, and my rating didn't change, so i thought it was cause of the 1 move only played

...am i right?

possibly. it could also be because rating was so low?

Both our ratings remained the same before and after the game finished
