What happens as you rack up member points? Does using the your chess.com blog earn you points?
Nothing happens when you rack up points, they are just a measure of how active of a member you are.
Yes, making posts in your blog DOES earn you member points. As does things like making forum posts.
Why not go back to the old prize system, just make it more points. I have been working really hard to get up to 1000 points for a t-shirt, not just nonsense posts, and then you guys tell me that's not going on any more, what is my motivation to post and be active? I don't think it was fair to just cut it off, I was really going for it.
Points usually never supposed to represent anything in a forum system, unless you use it in a shop system that is integrated, but typically points are there just to show how active one is on a site.
