I just won a game on time because my opponent failed to make his first move after three days.

I noticed my rating did not change.

Is that a glitch in the system or is there a minimum number of moves needed for a rating change ?

Here is the game below, it was part of a team match.

yea, its not officially a game until the other person makes his first move, otherwise it is counted as an aborted game. if it is a rated game, you both must make your first move.

I think there has to be 4 moves to count as a rated game.

Check the Game Archive of GirlInTheFire. After a 3.5 moves (7 ply) timeout loss there was a rating decrease from 1106 to 1006 and an increase in rating for the winner.

Note: Resignations affect ratings regardless of the number of moves.

Its 3 moves each before the game is rated.

Three moves is not enough for timeouts to be rated.

See the Game Archives for Jot and game ending 05/07/2008.
