I use Google Chrome on both my laptops.  I got meebo on both.  Then, on one of the laptops the meebo just disappeared.  

My privacy settings have meebo set for "everywhere."  

Meebo disappeared after I cleared my cache.  

Any suggestions.

i had mine disabled (someone signed on my name and did it for me so I couldn't tell you how it was done, just that I know it is possible) so now it doesn't appear when I log on chess.com.

You can. Just go to my home and it's in preferences somewhere. It hasn't bothered me though.

You can completely turn off chat completely in your  Privacy section (Account)

Where it says "Chat Bar", use the drop down box and mark as "Never Show" then save settings at the bottom of the page
