Yesterday, the number of tactics trainer problems just about doubled.  Good, however, nearly a hundred of these are rated 800, but require finding 5 to 12 correct moves!!!  I've looked at a few...these are NOT 800 level problems, 1800 level perhaps.  Please try and correct this situation. 

 Also, tactics trainer is great, but why so many mates compared to so few win material?  Future additions should favor win material in my opinion.

thanks for the post! hrmm... they shouldn't have been dumped in as 800s!! i'll have someone look at that. however, why so many mates? because our computers can add in mates easily since they are concrete. but the material ones need manual approval. if you want to help approve some, send me a message! :)

I sent Jay a message about my problems with the tactics trainer. I keep getting much lower rated problems than my rating. As a consequence my rating keeps going down as there is not much points gained from solving a problem 300-500 points below your level and a lot of points to lose.

Thanks for the response.  I may have written too soon, I just saw a large number of non-mate problems rated 1000 and am enjoying them.  I use TT a bit differently.  I go to view problems, sort them in order of easiest to hardest and work my way though sequentially.  This allows me to repeat them, know where I am and burn easy patterns into my rapidly aging brain - hopefully.
