Is there a way to start a game from a random, undefined position?  For example, I timed out in a recent game.  It was early in an even game.  I would like to challenge the player I timed out against and try to start from the same position.

Well, just message that person, and if you agree to it, just make moves until you get there. You can even do conditionals to make it go more quickly.
