Opponent Account Closed

A quick question regarding my opponent in a team match (marecek7791); During the course of the game it appears as though he has had his account closed due to cheating. His rating has almost been shown to plummet from +1800 to ~1000

However, I have not yet been awarded that game.

This leaves me with a few questions.

    1) Is it OK for me to discuss this game yet, or is it still considered in progress? I think I played a rather interesting move in the Sveshnikov and was going to post the analysis on my blog / to the openings forum. (In particular, the combination of 11...fxe4 and 12...Ra7)

    2) Will be I awarded rating points based on his original rating, albeit supposedly derived from cheating, or the new, lower rating

1.) I'd say not yet.  I believe that, somewhere on the member's account page, it says something like "if this is your account and you believe it has been closed in error, please contact us."

In other words it is possible, albeit unlikely, that your opponent will have his/her account reinstated before your game concludes.  It shouldn't be more than a few days before you can post your analysis.

2.) All rating changes are based on the most recent rating because that is what is considered "most accurate."  It sucks in cases like this where the opponent loses a large number of games in a short amount of time (for any of several different possible reasons, not just having their account closed) , but that's just how it is.
