Opponent moves, does not show on my timer.

I keep losing matches where i move and the timer runs down, thinking my opp has abandoned, and then I lose. They have moved and the move hasn't registered. Does not matter if I refresh the board. sam happens on the android app. i just forked out for a platinum membership and so this is really annoying me. It's happened 4 times noew, all whilst in winning positions and cost me points. Seriously unhappy.

On your computer, how often do you clear your cached files and cookies, and on the Android, have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the app?

Stainlessteelpat

Yes, I've tried reinstalling. Still does it. On the computer it does it on shut down. It's a uni PC so it gets wiped every log off.

Thank you. What else is going on in the background when you are playing. Does it happen if you only have Live Chess open?

This has happened to me in the neighbourhood of 150 to 200 times, always using the IOS app. I am at my wits end. I am an even keel guy but this is driving me insane! The only way to get it to realize what's what is to back up through the moves until the board reloads, this can take 15-45 seconds and at that point in a short game you have already lost.

I just re-installed and tried playing twice. Happened both times, the last time it told me I somehow won by checkmate but lost points.

I saw the same issue recently on my iOS device during a Live Chess game. My iPad thought it was my opponent's move, and showed his clock running. A few minutes later, he sent me a "are you going to move or leave?" message. Nothing I could do would make the app realize it was my turn, and I eventually lost on time.

I haven't tried to reproduce the issue since, but I could give it a try or provide additional information if it helps with diagnosis.

I do not have to set up special circumstances, it is almost the norm rather than the exception. I started playing 5+2 instead of 2+1 because I can jog its memory if I am reviewing moves as it updates, this usually takes 15-45 secs. This is a really annoying way to play and puts me at a disadvantage in almost every game. Plus it prevents me from playing on the go as I must commit 15 mins or so to a game. It's almost enough to ask for a pro-rated refund over, I have nearly destroyed an expensive phone over it a few times.

Hi, yes it happens irregardless of whether I have any other apps open on Android or, now, when playing on desktop using Chrome. The only solution I have found on the weekend is too log off with one device and log on with another. Which, while effective, is not practical.

Amelia

Ah, previously are you logged on on all devices simultaneously? Are you seeing the 'Another Login Detected' pop up notice?

It happened to me several times yesterday while playing as Guest on my iPhone. I had to just stop playing as it was just too irritating. I would be waiting for my opponent to move and watching his timer. I lost a couple games waiting on my opponent to move. I suspected I was not getting the opponent move update on my screen so I started to refresh occasionally and discovered that my opponent had moved without my board reflecting it until I refreshed. I thought it might just be an iPhone issue.

Then, this morning on my PC, using Chrome, it happened. So what? Now I have to continuously hit refresh to make sure I get the update?

It just happened again on my PC. It's unplayable!
