I want to look over a game i just played on pogo. I email'ed the move history to me and tried to insert it into a post. (not to post just to look over so i don't have to replay every single move). It says "Improper PGN file". here is a summary of the thing from the email.

----<PGN FORMAT>----
[Event "?"]
[Site "Pogo"]
[Date "2007.11.10"]
[Round "?"]
[White "Gpcgolf4"]
[Black "Blink513"]
[Result "1-0"]
1.b3 d5
2.Bc1b2 Ng8f6
3.Bb2xf6 exf6
4.e3 Bf8c5
...
62.Ka7b6 f2
63.a7 f1Q
64.Rf7xf1 Bg2xf1
65.a8Q 1-0
 What is wrong with it?

Don't say Bc1b2 for example. Just say Bb2. Also say a8=Q

Try importing it to chess pad to see if it works. i have been unable to put my pgns into the board for posting by the way. There are some pgn readers in the free software section (Downloads)

hmmm. some sites use improper PGNs (like yahoo and pogo). sorry about that. you will have to clean it up manually to insert. i think hopefully we will be able to fix that soon.

in the meantime, try one of these converters:

There should be a space between the headers and the game score.

Yes, there should be a space between the last header and the start of the game score.

what a terrible pgn!

better would be:

[Event "casual game"]
[Site "Pogo"]
[Date "2007.11.10"]
[Round "?"]
[White "Gpcgolf4"]
[Black "Blink513"]
[Result "1-0"]

1. b3 d5 2. Bb2 Nf6 3. Bxf6 exf6 4. e3 Bc5

Thanks everyone for your help, I found this thing called Normal32 (not sure if I downloaded it from here or not) but it works well and displays the games too. But thanks a lot, I save everygame I play so in 10 years I can look back and see how bad I stunk.
