I'm trying to blog about one of my games. When I try to paste the PGN file contents from game 6384245 they are rejected with an error saying that the PGN file is improper.
The contents of that PGN are readable by Shredder.
Could it be because it's a game that doesn't start at the standard starting position? (It's a Greco Defense game)
Here's the PGN contents:
[Event "Online Chess"][Site "Chess.com"][Date "2008.03.14"][Round "1"][White "deckers1066"][Black "satisfice"][Result "1-0"][Fen "rnb1kbnr/pppp1ppp/5q2/4p3/4P3/5N2/PPPP1PPP/RNBQKB1R w KQkq - 3 3"][WhiteElo "1661"][BlackElo "1421"][TimeControl "1 in 1 day"]3. Bc4 Bc5 4. Nc3 c6 5. d3 h6 6. g4 d6 7. g5 Qg6 8. Rg1 h5 9. Nh4 Qh7 10. Bxf7+ Kxf7 11. g6+ 1-0
You just have to change "[Fen" to "[FEN...".
In PGN tag names, like all symbols, are case sensitive.
Piotr & Erik,
Would it be possible to make it so that when we grab a .pgn from this site, that that change is made. If I download games from my thematic tournament, they all have "[Fen" is this an easy fix?
Thanks! You guys rock!
