Preview boards loading delay

Hi. I don't like to complain, especially for such a well done web site, but I find myself cursing the day the preview boards(the little boards that pop up when mousing over the "Game" or "Status" columns on the "My Online Chess" homepage) were implemented. I have a high speed connection but it seems those boards lock up my browser while the data is loading. Is there a way to turn this feature off, or speed up the loading of the preview boards?

I freely admit to being impatient, but it does take up to 10 seconds to load those boards, which I always thought was unacceptable response time.

Firefox 2.0.0.12, the latest. It pauses for about 10 seconds before I can do anything.

I have occasionally had those boards showing up all black, with a few pieces visible in outline.

I just checked and counted 11 seconds before I could click on anything. I only have 6 games going, so it doesn't seem to be related to the amount of data.

Stuff like this is why I got out of programming. Frown

I just wanted to say that about a week ago Erik and his captive gnome programmers he keeps locked away in the basement have sloved the problem quite nicely.

If you look at his avatar, you can see him with one of the gnome programmers. Cut little devils those gnomes, aren't they?
