I was playing a rated Live Chess game:

And during the game I saw that my opponent would not move his pieces for a long time after my last move. In the chat my opponent told me he was expecting me to move... apparently he did not received my last move...

The game ended in some confusion. In my interface, my opponent run out of time. In his interface, I run out of time. It was very strange.

Finally my opponent resigned out of simpathy, so we could close the game...

What has happened? Can we trust the system enough to play rated Live Chess games?

To the extent that the rating is only a number and can't be traded in for anything tangible, yes.  There is a new version in the works that will hopefully address some of these stability and reliability issues.

I was not able to play chess live today :( i would click accept and the game would never load..and it was sllllllow to respond to my clicks...this was my first try so hopefully my computer is having it's first bad day....
