Problem with moving a piece

Sort:

To who it may concern:

I'm having a problem with moving one of my pieces in my 14 days per move games. I'm currently involved in two games at the moment, in both games I want to moe my knight, but soon as I click on the piece it's stuck to my curser leaving me uanble to be sure where it would actually land if I clicked the submit option. The only way to get it off my curser is if I leave the game and reenter but the problem repeats. I'm in one rated game which I have 4 days left to make my move, the other is an unrated game so I don't care about it as much but would like to still make my move out of respect for my opponent. If I should lose the rated game because this problem hasn't been fixed then I request that the game would go back to where it was when I reported the problem or whenever the staff can confirm that I have this problem.

If possible I'd like to request that the timer would be put on pause till this can be investigated.

Thank you in advanced.

No, but seriously, I don't know what the problem you're having is, sorry :p

Did you try clicking on the square you want to move your knight to after it's following your cursor?

I know what you mean.  Try to type a comment in the chat section , then try to move your piece again.

1) Try hard-refreshing the page with ctrl+f5.

2) If this doesn't work, try clearing all cache and history of your web browser and try again.

Which browser are you using? Have you tried using a different one?

There are known issues with Chrome extensions ...

piece-dragging-bug ?

does-anybody-have-problems-with-chesscom-by-using-google-chrome

and toolbars ... (see technical-difficulties,    sticky-cursor)

The chess.com toolbar is a browser-specific plug-in.

For Chrome, removal instructions are here ...

For IE, instructions here ...

(In general, if you use google to search for disable browser addons or uninstall browser plugins, you'll find what you need.)

You don't need to press ctrl. Just F5 should work.

F5 is just a refresh which uses the cache and might replicate whatever problem there is, Ctrl+F5 on the other hand is called "hard-refresh" which doesn't use the cache and downloads everything from stratch.
