In online chess how many moves are required before a game will affect your rating. For example, if someone resigns or times out after a few moves does your rating change.

4 moves by White will affect ratings.

    3 moves is not enough.

Only timeouts are treated this way otherwise everything counts.

In the past a three move mate did not count. Now it does.

In this game a player is mated in two moves. His rating dropped from 1415 to 1410. This was quickly followed by a three move mate win raising his rating to 1424.
