After I make a move, I get an hour glass for about 60 seconds and finally my board refreshes. If my opponent made a move, I get the hour glass for another 60 seconds and finally the board refreshes. So, it takes at least 2 minutes between moves even if we are making instant decisions and moving immediately. Is this normal? If not, is there something I can do to speed up these screen refreshes?

Thank you Matt. I am using Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6. I use it because that is what came on my PC. How do I get these other browsers?
For Mozilla FireFox browser - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
This should most likely fix your problem.

hrmm. that is really weird. are you using dialup internet?
Hmm, seems like you have a strong internet connection. I don't think that is the problem then but maybe the South African servers could be a bit slow.
Yeah, live chess will be coming quite soon. Erik and the team are working very hard on it. So hopefully once that comes you will not have to visit the MSN Zone anymore.

scott good games im still learning
You are still learning as we all are. I sometimes move too fast without looking at all the possibilities. I think you do this more often than I do. That is why I beat you more often than you beat me..
