Hi, I was wondering how to make a screen shot, I'm having trouble figuring it out. Thanks.
exactly what i was thinking matt! :) I would also like to know how to do a screenshot. thanks! :)
This is enormously complicated, so, pay close attention:
1) click your PrtScr/SysRq key on your keyboard (this stores the screen's image in a temporary one-use only at a time 'clipboard')
2) open up Windows' Paint program (start / All Programs / Accessories / Paint)
3) Edit / 'paste' into the Paint program
4) File / 'save' as whatever file name you like (.bmp files are large but the most detailed, if you'd rather a much smaller file size, save as a .gif file)
This computer can't get to paint, is there any other way to make a screen shot?
I think there's some program(s) that you can download to do it. Look up screen grab or something like that.
Your computer can't "get" to Paint?? What type of computer and operating system are you using?
I'm also using a windows, and I can not find paint!
okay i cliked prtsc, and ctrl + v and nothing happened .
My instructions were not merely "cliked prtsc, and ctrl +v".
You need to "paste" into a graphics program such as Windows' free Paint.
ps. How can you not find "Paint"? Which version of windows do you have? It's right there in Windows XP. I'm assured it's also present in Vista & Windows 7. I've also enjoyed Paint, in Windows 3.31 & Windows 95 & WMe.
Information on how to make a screen shot on a PC or a Mac can be obtained by googling "How to Use Print Screen Function".
Or you can go to "http://www.ehow.com/ and from that website type Search for "How to use print screen function".
And it will give you several websites that provide the information you want.
You can also do it in Microsoft Word if you can't find Paint. After you click "PrntScr," then you can press "ctrl-v" in a blank word document, and your copy of the screen should show up there. If you want to save your picture, then you have to do a right-click and click on "Save as Picture" or something similiar.
Not a fan of MS Word (extremely expensive so I've never purchased it).
Though, I've heard rumours that a version is included in Windows 7 (Vista too?).
okay thanks for the help. :)
It works when I save and press Cltrl+V. But "save picture" isn't an option when I right click it. How can I save the screen shot? I can see it, but I can't save it.
That's what I see when I hit "submit" without saving.
When you right click it, does it give you any options about saving it? I use Word 2010. It is possible that the older versions of Word don't have that option to save pictures.
If that don't work out, then you can try to find Paint by clicking on the start menu from the desktop. You probably will find Paint in the "Accessories" tab or "Other Programs" tab. It is probably there somewhere. You can also use the "Search" or "Find" options which will help you find programs on your computer.
I found paint on the start menu but when I try to open it it says the file in invalid.
When I right click the screen shot the options are:
are you using Windows7?
